Earl's Pharmacy, located in Saskatoon, SK is currently looking for a responsible, bondable, and trustworthy individual to join their team as a part-time Delivery Driver! The successful candidate will work 24 hours per week. The usual shifts will be from 4:30 pm to 9:00 pm from Monday to Friday. The days required may vary.
The Delivery Driver is responsible for completing deliveries of nursing home medications and supplies on a set route throughout Saskatoon while maintaining the safety and security of the cargo. They are responsible for daily vehicle inspections, fueling, cleaning of the company van, and reporting any issues or services needs to the manager. This position also requires the candidate to lift and maneuver large packages. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Work well under pressure and take directions well, but also be able to work alone in an organized way. A good driving record is required as knowledge of Saskatoon.

JOB DESCRIPTION: DELIVERY DRIVER
OBJECTIVE: Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager the Delivery Driver makes deliveries of various items to our customers and nursing home medications and supplies promptly and courteously. The Delivery Person must oversee all functions of the delivery vehicle’s condition including a daily vehicle inspection, maintaining the safety and security of the cargo, and managing any payments. The delivery driver is also responsible for the organization and distribution of merchandise, record keeping, and other inventory-related duties as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
DELIVERY
- Do all pickup and deliveries. Maintain daily reporting as required.
- Complete proper delivery documentation. Ensure delivery slips are signed and submitted.
- Ensure all mail is postmarked and mailed every day.
- Maintain Delivery of Automobiles including neatness, cleanliness, fuel, oil, tires, and general maintenance when needed. Utilize and update the maintenance log binder.
- Complete monthly totals for delivery record keeping.
COLD STORAGE AND STOCK
- Maintain organization of cold storage facility; accurate list to be kept in Kroll for inventory management
- Ensure adequate stocking boxes on site.
- Manage inventory of kitchen supplies and replacements upon request from staff.
- Assist with general organization and movement of stock.
- Coordinate all transfers of merchandise between stores and warehouses.
STORE MAINTENANCE
- Break down boxes daily and put them out for daily pickup.
- Empty all garbage containers in the stockroom, pharmacy, washroom, and offices as often as required.
- Carry out minor cleaning of floors via vacuum/mop supplies.
- Sweep the sidewalk and entrance, pick up the garbage, and ensure the store exterior is kept neat. Wash windows, clean all handrails, and shovel snow as required.
- Carry out minor maintenance as required, such as replacing burnt-out lights and minor repairs to fixtures and displays.
- Coordinate repair and order replacement parts for items as required and approved by management.
- Replace water cooler jugs.
- Any other duties as required by the Pharmacy Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS AND PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Candidates must possess a valid and permanent provincial driver's licence.
- Eligible candidates must provide a driver abstract dated within the last 30 days.
- Maintain the safety and integrity of the company vehicle.
- Must have held a safe driving record for the past 3 years.
- Ability to lift and maneuver large packages.
- Must know the city routes to organize deliveries.
- Strong customer service skills and a display a high degree of professionalism.
- Ability to follow proper procedures and guidelines.
- Due to this position's sensitive nature, the successful candidate must complete a Criminal Record Check.
