JOB DESCRIPTION: BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANT

OBJECTIVE: Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Business Development Assistant drives Rubicon’s growth by identifying exciting and strategic acquisition opportunities across existing and future markets – and then working to make them happen. Focusing on merger-and-acquisition, investment, scouting, strategy, and integration, we're dedicated to identifying the business opportunities of tomorrow.  We drive team decisions, lead negotiations, and help run post-acquisition integration and performance evaluation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify and engage potential M&A opportunities via personal and event networking, industry meet-ups, cold outreach and industry research.
  • Build a continuously flowing pipeline of viable acquisition targets, always focusing on relationship and long-term fit versus a transactional focus.
  • Understand and stay current on various regional markets, industry trends, competitive landscape, and business development efforts; leverage this knowledge to help evaluate opportunities.
  • Build connections and relationships with industry experts.
  • Structure complex problems, gather and analyze massive amounts of information expeditiously, and deliver insights and recommendations to Rubicon’s executive team.
  • Use Customer Relationship Management tool to compile and consolidate data in an orderly fashion, relating to individual acquisition targets and the acquisition pipeline.
  • Coordinate activities related to monitoring risks and ensuring regulatory compliance for acquisition candidates with Legal, Risk, Compliance and/or Audit as required.
  • Represent Rubicon at transaction closings, attend and chair client meetings and presentations and prepare related relevant documentation to support the attraction, retention and expansion of acquisition candidate relationships.

QUALIFICATIONS AND PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business, or combination of equivalent relevant experience and education.
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in a business development, acquisition, or analysis role.
  • Ability to negotiate business contracts and build a trustful relationship.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Possess valid drivers’ license.
  • Must have availability to travel.
